FAQ

How does AI RFP software show where each answer came from?

Why citations alone are not an accuracy control, what correct abstention looks like, and how Inventive AI scores confidence on every drafted answer.

At a glance: Citation per answer · Confidence rating · Conflict detection

Showing a source is not the same as being right. A study of AI search tools found only 74.5% of citations actually supported the sentence they were attached to — an answer can be correct with the wrong link, or wrong with a convincing one. Models also lean toward answering rather than admitting a gap, because training rewards a guess over an "I don't know". A tool that returns "information unavailable" is working, not failing.

Inventive AI attaches a source citation and an AI-generated confidence rating to every drafted answer, so reviewers can work the low-confidence queue instead of re-reading everything. When sources cannot support an answer it flags the gap rather than generating something plausible, and review agents surface contradictions between sources before submission.

Pro tip. Click through three citations at random during the demo.
